Who We Are
Mission Statement:
"By this, people will know that
we are Jesus' disciples, as we
love one another, teach His
Word, and serve all People."
Student Fellowship provides a
midweek opportunity to pause and
praise. Connect with other students
through songs, devotions, prayers and
snacks. Wednesdays during the
school year at 9:15 PM in the MLC
Student Center.

How We've Grown...
The presence of Iowa State University brings many
international guests to Ames. And for various
reasons, other people from far away make Ames
home. Memorial Lutheran Church extends hospitality
by providing free English classes, coordinating
resources, holding Bible studies, and much more...
The Friendships International program connects
conversation partners made up of an international
and a local.

Memorial Lutheran Church has a
missionary in Ethiopia. Kebede and his
family dedicate their lives primarily to
helping Ethiopians establish a way to feed
their families. This Gospel action leads to
sharing the Gospel message along the
way.

Education &
Fellowship
From Sunday School for children, to
Bible studies and instruction for adults
& confirmation and youth activities for
the teenagers... Christian education is
an important component of Lutheran
heritage.
Check out the church
calendar to see times for these events.
Descriptions of the current Bible
studies can be found in the
weekly
Announcements.
Jesus spent time fishing, eating, and at parties
with His disciples, family, and other friends.
Fellowship is an important part of Christian
life. Between the early service and the
education hour, join us downstairs for some
coffee and donuts, along with some laughter &
conversation... introduce yourself! Different
groups also host events to facilitate
fellowship- from Fall Festival, to FISH dinners
& potlucks.
Check out the church calendar for

The women of Memorial Lutheran
Church are active especially in
ministries of hospitality. Parents
of ISU students can purchase
cakes & care packages provided
by WOM, and the money raised
are dispersed to missionaries,
Christmas efforts, and much
more! The women also serve the
food at wedding receptions &
after funerals, knit & distribute
prayer shawls for those who
need a reminder of God's love,
supplement the Sunday school's
Mitten Tree in the winter, sew
quilts to go to internationals in
the congregation, & host
speakers to talk about family &
professional topics in a Christian
environment.

Alumni Association: We are
developing an Alumni Network to
perhaps have homecoming events, an
