Peer Ministry
This ministry will enable Memorial's Ministry to extend deeper into the
campus life. The ministry will equip students to help the pastors at
Memorial Lutheran Church in contacting students, sharing the Christian
faith, and inviting students to services and programs at Memorial.

Peer ministry helps Memorial reach out to more students at Iowa State,
not just the students who regularly attend worship services. Peer
ministry gives students an opportunity to become involved in a Christian
ministry to other students.
Peer ministers are students who are active in the campus ministry at Memorial.
Many of them were active in their home congregations as youth. They are
young men and women who are committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and the
work of the Church.

Each semester several students are selected by the pastors at Memorial to be
peer ministers. They receive special training at a weekend retreat held prior to
the semester. They meet each week during the semester to receive further
training and to encourage each other in their ministry.

Each week during the semester, peer ministers visit other students, sharing
with them their faith and the ministry at Memorial.
