Connecting
Not your regular Sunday School...
Our youth are blessed to have their
Sunday Bible Study facilitated by two
college students: one male and one
female. These students can help the
youth have an applicable perspective
on how God is active in the lives of
young people. Through practicing
Bible Study and prayer, and interacting
with positive role models, Sunday Bible
Study can help teens cope with the
struggles of high school and also help
them establish a firm foundation as
they blossom into young adults.
By nature, the schedule of a high
schooler is full of schoolwork,
extracurricular activities, social
gatherings and family obligations. How
important it is, then, that they are also
sustained through Christian fellowship
with their peers! Our youth enjoy
lock-ins, fun outings, and also
fellowship during service projects such
as soup suppers and raking leaves.
Beyond our church...
Our church belongs to a "district"
with other churches. The district likes
to put on events for the youth from all
of the churches. They bring in special
speakers and inspiring bands. It is a
great opportunity for youth to connect
with other Christian youth.
The National Youth Gathering is a
tri-annual event. The National Youth
Gathering in 2010 will take place in
New Orleans. Click here for more
information.
Junior High Week is excited to have boys and girls from all over Iowa District West registered to
attend from July 11-17th. There is still plenty of room for Junior High youth to sign up and attend
Junior High Week at Camp Okoboji. Registration forms can be found at www.campokoboji.org. OR
you can even register for Camp Okoboji on-line. Our 2010 Junior High Week theme centers on
teaching our young people about Stewardship. The Junior High Week team encourages each
congregation to encourage their 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students to attend Junior High Week.
